crumbs was the weekly newspaper for the school of the art institute of chicago. I was the editor, designer (sic), and sometimes printer while I was a graduate student in the photography department from 1977 to 1979. My boss was Conrad Gleber, head of the publications department at the school. I was assisted in the design and production of crumbs by Rebecca Michaels and other students who often served as "guest editor / designers" including Kevin Riordan, Don Smith, Bob Warhover, Bill Linehan, Bob Roesler and Phil Zimmermann. There wasn't actually much editing. We just printed whatever someone gave us. We printed crumbs on a Chief 17 offset printer in the basement of the school.
